For Rusty, writing Casey Tibbs' biography is one of the greatest honors and accomplishments of his life.

 

Rusty and Amy were taking a trip across the western states. When Casey heard where they were going, he insisted they stop in and meet his family. 

 

While visiting, Rusty mentioned that he would love to see the homestead where Casey had been raised, and upon seeing the harsh conditions the family had endured, Rusty said. "Someone really needs to write Casey's life story."
